Ryan Walker is an associate in our Tax Group in Toronto. He maintains a general corporate income tax practice.
Ryan focuses on the tax elements of corporate and commercial transactions. He advises Canadian and international clients on tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, financings (including public debt offerings), and reorganizations. He also advises in respect of Canadian tax disputes (including tax litigation matters) and has assisted clients in responding to complex revenue authority audit inquiries.
Ryan has spoken on tax matters for the International Fiscal Association and Federated Press. He has contributed to publications such as the Canadian Tax Journal, the Thomson Reuters International Tax Newsletter, and Wolters Kluwer Tax Topics.
Ryan was called to the Ontario bar in 2013. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the International Fiscal Association, and the Ontario Bar Association.
Ryan received his BSc (with distinction) in 2009 from McMaster University and his JD (with honours) in 2012 from the University of Toronto. He is the recipient of numerous awards for academic achievement, including law school awards in tax law, securities law, and family law. He has also completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course.
