Sara Albert is an associate in our Litigation Group in Calgary. She maintains a general corporate commercial litigation practice with a focus on contract disputes and securities litigation.
Sara gained an in-depth understanding of the court process while articling at the Alberta Court of Appeal where she worked on a wide range of legal issues including commercial disputes, bankruptcy matters, and securities disputes. More recently Sara has assisted on matters relating to contractual disputes, real property disputes, allegations of negligence, employment matters, construction litigation and securities litigation.
Sara regularly volunteers for the Civil Claims Duty Counsel Project and Queen’s Bench Amicus Project, where she assists unrepresented and disadvantaged litigants with their civil claims in court.
Sara received her JD (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta in 2014. Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia in 2010. Sara worked as a summer student with the firm and, following her clerkship with the Court of Appeal, returned to complete her articles. She was called to the Alberta bar in 2015 and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association.
