Biography

Stéphanie St-Jean is an associate in our Litigation Group in Montréal. Her practice encompasses civil and commercial litigation, class actions, immigration, competition law and professional liability.

During her studies, Ms. St-Jean received several awards and distinctions for her excellent results and community engagement. She was a research assistant as well as the president of the student association of the Civil Law Section of the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa and of the student association of the École du Barreau du Québec in Ottawa. She also participated in a number of moot court competitions, winning several prizes. In 2011, Ms. St-Jean completed a certificate in an introduction to Chinese law at the China University of Political Science and Law. She also did an internship at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations in Geneva, Human Rights Section, in the winter of 2013.

Ms. St-Jean obtained her civil law degree (LLL) from the University of Ottawa in 2012 and her common law degree (JD) from Queen’s University in 2014. She then earned a master’s degree in law from Oxford University in 2015. Following her studies, Ms. St-Jean served as a judicial clerk for the Chief Justice of the Federal Court, where she developed greater knowledge of administrative law and competition law. She was involved, in particular, in many cases before the Competition Tribunal.

Ms. St-Jean is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Young Bar Association of Montréal. She was called to the Quebec Bar in 2016.
