Dharshini K. Sinnadurai is an associate in our Litigation Group in Toronto. She maintains a broad litigation practice with an emphasis on professional liability, securities and wealth litigation, and large-scale commercial disputes.
Ms. Sinnadurai regularly acts for corporations and individuals on civil litigation matters and has appeared before various tribunals and levels of court in Ontario, both as supporting and lead counsel. She completed a six-month secondment in 2016 with RBC, where she advised the bank’s domestic and global wealth businesses on complex estate matters, account disputes, investment suitability claims, class actions, and regulatory proceedings. Ms. Sinnadurai also frequently acts for physicians named in medical negligence matters.
Ms. Sinnadurai runs McCarthy Tétrault’s Pro Bono Law Help Ontario student and associate initiatives in the Toronto office. As part of this program, students and litigation associates at the Firm provide pro bono legal assistance to self-represented litigants at the Toronto small claims court, including but not limited to procedural and substantive advice, assistance drafting materials, and court appearances.
Ms. Sinnadurai concurrently obtained her BMath in Statistics from the University of Waterloo and her BBA in Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2009. She obtained her JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2012.
Ms. Sinnadurai was called to the Ontario bar in 2013. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Advocates’ Society.
