Biography

Louis Fouquet is an associate in our Litigation Group in Montréal. His practice encompasses civil and commercial litigation, securities litigation, class actions, securities and financial products regulation, and professional liability.

The following are some of the mandates in which Mr. Fouquet has been involved as part of his work at McCarthy Tétrault:

  • member of a team representing a major Canadian financial institution in connection with a bank-lending liability case;
  • member of a team representing a major Canadian financial institution in a commercial account management dispute;
  • member of a team representing a major advertising company in connection with an oppression remedy engaged by a minority shareholder;
  • member of a team representing a major telecommunications infrastructure company in a contractual dispute.

Mr. Fouquet obtained a Bachelor’s degree of Civil Law and Common Law and a Minor in International Relations from McGill University (2012). Throughout his studies, he was on the Dean’s Honour List. In 2011, as part of his undergraduate studies, he spent a semester at École de Droit de la Sorbonne (Université Paris I). He then pursued a Master’s degree in International Law at the University of Cambridge, UK, graduating With Great Distinction (First Class) in 2014.

Mr. Fouquet is a member of the Young Bar Association of Montréal and the Canadian Bar Association. He was called to the Quebec Bar in 2015.
