AREA OF EXPERTISE
Andrew Kalamut is an associate in our Litigation Group in Toronto. He maintains a general civil and corporate/commercial litigation practice, with a focus in professional negligence, mining disputes, and construction/infrastructure disputes.
Andrew has appeared at all levels of courts in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, as well as various administrative tribunals. In addition, he has represented clients in international arbitrations.
Andrew is a member of our Global Mining Litigation Practice Group, as well as the International Arbitration Practice Group.
He is a regular contributor to the firm’s mining industry blog Mining Prospects and annual Mining in the Courts publication. Andrew also contributes to the firm’s International Arbitration Blog. He has authored various articles and speaks at seminars on topics of advocacy. He is currently an instructor at the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University, where he teaches Trial Advocacy.
Andrew received a BA (Hons.) from Queen’s University in 2007 and a JD from Queen’s University in 2010, when he was awarded the course prize in Health Law. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2011, and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Advocates’ Society.
