Biography
Anita Nador is a partner in the firm’s Toronto’s office.
Ms. Nador’s practice involves all areas of intellectual property law, life sciences regulatory matters with a focus on chemical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical areas, including patents, plant breeders’ rights, trade-marks, advertising, due diligence, strategic intellectual property, scientific and commercialization planning, regulatory approval, litigation, license agreements and other intellectual property-related transactions.
Ms. Nador’s clients include large international companies, and academic and research institutions, start-up companies and commercial investors and researchers. Before law school, she conducted research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts and at Allelix Biopharmaceuticals in Mississauga, Ontario.
Ms. Nador is actively involved in several professional organizations. She is currently a director of the Toronto Biotechnology Initiative (TBI) and is co-chair of the Toronto chapter of the Licensing Executives Society. Ms. Nador also regularly speaks, teaches and writes on topics related to intellectual property and technology transfer issues.
Ms. Nador is listed in the 2010 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the area of biotechnology.
Ms. Nador received her BA in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University and her LLB from the University of Toronto. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1995. Ms. Nador is a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States, and a registered Canadian trade-mark agent.
