Biographie

Deandra Schubert is an associate in our Business Law Group in Toronto. She maintains a general corporate and securities law practice which includes mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.

Ms. Schubert’s recent experience includes advising Partners Real Estate Investment Trust in connection with its securities offerings, Belden Inc. in connection with its acquisition of Miranda Technologies, Birch Hill Equity Partners in connection with its acquisition of HOMEQ Corporation, Partners Real Estate Investment Trust in connection with its acquisition of NorRock Realty Finance Corporation, the special committee of the board of directors of RuggedCom Inc. in response to a hostile take-over bid and subsequent sale of the company and CIBC World Markets in connection with a securities offering by Just Energy.  She also provides advice to public company clients on securities law requirements, including continuous disclosure matters.

Ms. Schubert received her B.Comm. from the University of Toronto, her JD (with Distinction) from the University of Western Ontario and her MBA from the Ivey School of Business, graduating from the combined JD/MBA program in 2009.  Ms. Schubert earned a place on the Dean's Honour List in each year of the combined program and received a number of awards for academic excellence.  She was awarded the Gold Medal for the highest standing in the JD/MBA program.

Ms. Schubert was called to the Ontario bar in 2010. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
