The seminar will feature a discussion on the requirements of the City of Toronto Lobbyist Registry. The speakers will include Linda Gehrke, Lobbyist Registrar, and Daniel Artenosi of McCarthy Tétrault LLP. Ms. Gehrke will be speaking on the overall lobbyist registry framework, and she will focus on important issues that the Registry has been dealing with, including enforcement, identification of related parties that must be disclosed in registrations, donations to charities sponsored by local councillors, amongst others. Mr. Artenosi will be speaking on developing best practices to ensure compliance with the registry requirements, with specific reference to the approach used to manage internal registrations for lawyers in the Municipal Group and for clients.
