  • Muskrat Falls project secures C$5 billion global bond financing
    Represented TD Securities and Goldman Sachs in this single largest infrastructure financing in Canadian history. Guaranteed by the Government of Canada, the C$7.7 billion construction and development of the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric facility on Labrador’s Lower Churchill River is the most expensive capital works project in the history of the province.
  • Toronto 2015 Pan/Para Pan American Games Athletes’ Village Project financed for $514 million CAD
    Counsel to Infrastructure Ontario for the design and build, and to the Province of Ontario for the financing of this project. This LEED® Gold-certified project will implement Waterfront Toronto’s award-winning precinct plan for the West Don Lands area; accommodate 10,000 Pan and Parapan athletes, coaches and team officials; and provide a vibrant, sustainable mixed-use riverside community.
  • BG Group to build C$6 billion natural gas transportation system from north-eastern B.C. to Prince Rupert
    Represented Spectra in partnership with BG Group to build an 850 km pipeline to transport up to 4.2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas to BG Group’s Ridley Island export facility. This is a unique opportunity for B.C. to access new markets, strengthen its energy infrastructure, engage stakeholders in economic growth and job creation, and ultimately secure the province's position as a competitive energy leader.
  • Pacific Energy Corp. and FortisBC agree to expand the Vancouver Island Fortis Energy System and execute natural gas transportation service agreement
    Represented Pacific Energy Corp. and its subsidiary Woodfibre Natural Gas in its proposed site acquisition, negotiation and delivery of a pipeline Development Agreement with FortisBC; a feasibility study and related work to expand the Fortis Energy System and its tie-in to the Woodfibre LNG Facility; and ultimately, the execution a long-term natural gas transportation service agreement. This project is designed to provide significant economic benefits, including the return of the Woodfibre site to the District of Squamish tax base, and the potential to be one of the first completed LNG projects on the B.C. coast.
  • Birmingham International Airport, U.K.
    Counsel to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan & Victoria Funds Manager in the acquisition of 48.25% of Birmingham International Airport.
  • Companhia Minera Antamina
    Advised Antamina joint venture on the long-term bankable off-take agreements with numerous international smelters to secure project financing.
  • Peace River Coal (Anglo American)
    Advising on the environmental assessment process, aboriginal matters, including consultation and the negotiation of impact benefit agreements and coal tenuring and permitting matters for the Roman Coal Project.
  • Thompson Creek Metals
    Advising on environmental and permitting, procurement arrangements, off-take and port agreements and aboriginal matters, including consultation and the negotiation of impact benefit agreements.
